Letterbox Golf | New rules 2026 - What applies?
Executive summary
On July 1, 2025, the maximum cap was introduced. Players in a club that has reached its maximum cap will keep their Golf ID until 2025.
In the fall of 2025, if you're a player at a club that has reached the cap, you have plenty of time to find a new club.
We will of course tell you about our membership. Price from 1595 SEK for senior! Read more here.
On January 1, 2026, your club may not have more active Golf IDs than the cap allows. Follow-up is ongoing.
On February 1, 2026, all clubs must be below the limit of their cap.
How are golf clubs' individual ceilings calculated?
The maximum cap for each golf club is linked to the number of golf holes the facility has: a maximum of 2,800 active Golf IDs for an 18-hole course, 2,240 for a 12-hole course and 1,680 for a 9-hole course.*
If a club has more than 18 golf holes, the maximum number above is added together. Example 27-hole facility: 2,800 + 1,680 = max 4,480 active Golf IDs.
Curious about the maximum ceiling for a specific club? You can find it on the Ceilings per club page.
We at Naturligtvis GCC (12 hole course) are thus allowed to have 2240 members.

FAQ
My current golf club was one of those that hit the roof. What do I do?
You can continue to be a member and play golf with your current membership throughout the year. Until 2026, you may need to find a new club to join.
I don't play golf at the moment, so I don't mind losing my membership, but I want to keep my Golf ID and handicap?
You will not lose your handicap or your Golf ID if you do not pay your membership fee. If you take a break from golf, your Golf ID and handicap will be saved.
If you become a member of a golf club again, your Golf ID and all My Golf features - such as the ability to book tee times, register handicap rounds and enter competitions - will be activated.
Can I no longer be a member in a district other than where I live?
As a golfer, you always have a free choice to be a member of a golf club in the same and/or different golf district than you live.
